I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to work on multiple research projects
as an undergraduate. Highlights include:
- Spending the summer of 2018 at the SMALL REU
program hosted by Williams College. I worked in the tropical geometry group under the direction of
Ralph Morrison, studying
divisors on graphs from a combinatorial perspective. We proved results relating various
forms of an invariant of a graph known as its gonality. I also presented (some of) these
results at MathFest 2018 where I was recognized with an outstanding student presentation award.
- Working on an independent research project as a high school student under the supervision
of Julie Rana. We studied roots of
certain polynomials over finite fields and proved results
regarding the "linearity" of these roots in special cases. I presented these results at the
MAA NCS Meeting in the fall of 2017.
